Experience :

Four to five years at the consultant level

Education : Doctor of Medicine

Specialty residency training

Language : English

Work Setting : Cardiology Clinic

Licence :

Eligible for CPSO license

Eligible or holder of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Certification Exam

Eligible or holder of the Licensure by Provincial or Territorial Authorities / Medical Council of Canada.

Primary Duties as a Cardiologist :

Examining patients and taking their histories.

Diagnose and treat disorders and diseases of the cardiovascular.

Order laboratory tests, X-rays, and other diagnostic procedures.

Conduct early detection screenings.

Prescribe and administer medications and treatments.

Develop ongoing treatment and disease-management plans.

Consult with other medical practitioners to evaluate patients' health.

Act as a consultant to other physicians.

Advise patients on healthcare.

Communicate health promotion / disease prevention to patients.

Provide Counselling and support to patients and their families on a wide range of health and lifestyle issues.

Maintain accurate patient records and charts.
