Job description

We are hiring for several Material Handlers for a busy distribution centre in South Surrey! We are looking for motivated individuals to join our team!

In this role, you will be responsible for order picking with a scanner, packing and sorting, labeling, and assisting with shipping and receiving. This position requires attention to detail and efficiency.

What you need to know :

Shift : Monday - Friday

Time : 2 : 00 pm - 10 : 30 pm

Wage : $21 / hr ($20.hr + $1 / hr shift premium)

Location : Surrey, Campbell Heights area

This is a FULL-TIME temporary position, the ideal candidate will need to be available to start immediately

Transit accessible, vehicle an asset to accommodate evening schedule

You have Steel Toed Shoes

You are legally permitted to work full-time (40 hours / week) in British Columbia - Hold a status of Work Permit, Permanent Resident, or Canadian Citizen

Responsibilities

Duties assigned but not limited to :

  • Work under supervision and direction of department Supervisor and team lead
  • Help to efficiently carry out all product loading and unloading tasks, by hand
  • Scan and track incoming and outgoing orders
  • Receive and process new inventory, ensuring contents match manifest documents
  • Inspect receivables for defects, damages or missing items
  • Pick , prepare, package and label goods for shipment
  • Double-check items to verify the accuracy of outgoing orders
  • Manually load and unload product to and from trailers and containers
  • Keep workplace clean and tidy (general housekeeping)
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or issues to upper management
  • Follow all warehouse policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Adhere to health and safety rules and regulations at all times
  • Wear protective clothing and equipment as required
  • Work with other Distribution Centre team members to effectively complete assigned tasks
  • Qualifications

  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs repetitively
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to follow precise verbal and written instructions
  • Able to read, write, speak and receive instruction and directions in English
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Working knowledge of RF scanners and common warehouse tools and equipment
