ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE
This role reports to Faculty Member.
SUMMARY
The Research Assistant primarily engaged in research with secondary materials will assist faculty or members of the Dean's office with various research projects.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Research, editing and typing of academic journal articles and books
- Develop and maintain files on issues related to the current project
- Do library and online research as required (e.g. review current literature, statistics, legal research, academic journals, surveys, online databases, etc)
- Research, compile data and write short essay to be incorporated into a variety of Faculty purposes
- Prepare summary reports including headings and information which can be subsequently used to draft briefing notes or craft PowerPoint presentations
QUALIFICATIONS
Applicant must be of Indigenous Heritage and pursuing a KPU Bachelors degreePreference will be given to applicants from a nation that participates in the All-Native Basketball TournamentSKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to follow directions with minimal supervisionDemonstrated strong attention to detail and quality deliverablesAbility to use MS Office tools, including databases for tracking or qualitative and / or quantitative studiesGood interpersonal, organization, research and written skillsA professional and positive attitudeKnowledge of the research areaSalary InformationStudent Assistants are paid as per the following :
Less than one year of post-secondary (less than 30 credits) - BC Minimum WageOne year of post-secondary (30-60 credits) - BC Minimum Wage plus 8%With a post-secondary diploma or degree - BC Minimum Wage plus 21%
