Job description

The Opportunity :

The Community Facilities Shift Leader guides, coaches and coordinates a team of casual part time Facility Attendants and contractors to deliver a wide range of services.

  • Support the Community Facilities Rental Administrator in providing daily direction, guidance, motivation and support to the facility attendants, ensuring the team is providing excellent customer service and meeting their daily work schedule commitments
  • Responsible for the scheduling, training and coordination of the facility attendants to ensure adequate coverage to support Community Facilities rentals and ensure facilities are safely used and maintained, ensuring all standards and codes are met
  • Conduct, coordinate and schedule facility cleaning, ensuring cleaning standards are maintained by facility attendants and contract service providers
  • Conduct basic maintenance activities and coordinate with contractor and maintenance staff in the scheduling and completion of facility maintenance work
  • Perform required facility safety inspections, reporting and actioning any identified safety concerns in Community Facilities buildings
  • Support departmental goals and business strategies, develop guidelines, procedures and processes, and look for opportunities for increased efficiencies
  • Provide oversight of the day-to-day operations of City of Airdrie Community Facilities to ensure compliance with safety policies, guidelines, procedures and all relevant health and safety, environmental and AGLC legislation
  • Coordinate and complete the set-up, take-down, cleaning and other preparation and oversight of community facility rentals and events

You Bring :

  • Post-Secondary in a related field considered an asset
  • Current Standard First Aid – Level C CPR and AED required
  • Proserv is considered an asset
  • 3 years of experience in a supervisory role
  • Experience in customer service or administration in a recreation environment
  • Proven demonstrated leadership skills and ability to positively influence others
  • Understanding of AGLC and AHS requirements related to rental events and commercial kitchens is an asset
  • Banquet and / or facility rental experience is an asset
  • Experience using payroll, scheduling, event rental and administrative software systems is an asset
  • Ability to inspire and motivate team members to deliver exemplary customer service
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (both written and oral)
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Adapt well in an ever changing and diverse environment
  • Self-starter, goal-oriented, resourceful, innovative and creative / forward-thinking (identify opportunities for improvement and manage change)
  • Strong problem solving, decision making and conflict resolution skills

    Additional Information :

    This is a full time position (minimum 40 hours per week) which includes a comprehensive benefits and pension package.

    You may be required to work days, evenings, weekends, and / or late nights.
