Apprentice / Journeyperson Welders and / or Fitters

Fast Labour Solutions is urgently looking for 20 Apprentice and Journeyperson Welders and / or Fitters for a structural steel fabrication shop in Calgary!

Details : Start : ASAP Length of Assignment : 3 months (Temporary) Wages : $24 - $33 per hour

• Please note this depends on experience
• Shift Types Day shift : 5 : 00 AM TO 3 : 15 PM Night Shift : 3 : 30 PM TO 1 : 00 AM Location : Calgary, Alberta Duties Reads and interprets blueprints or welding process specifications and welding symbols.

Operates manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as flux-cored arc welding (FCAW), and shielded metal arc welding (SMAW).  Working on skids, handrails, ladders, and platforms Removes welds using the Air Arc Gouging process.

Completes assigned work within a given timeframe and according to specifications.

Accurately completes time sheets, weight sheets, hazard analysis sheets, etc.

Operates manual flame-cutting equipment.

Needs to adjust welding equipment and tooling according to work specifications.

Completes housekeeping duties in assigned area or project area daily and / or when required.

Requirements Experience required : 2nd-year apprentice, 3rd-year apprentice, Journeyperson, and or experienced fitters.

PPE Required : Steel Toe boots, basic hand tools (air die grinder, extension core, MIG pliers, paint scraper).

Must have a reliable source of transportation.

Specialization in structural construction welding is considered an asset.

Ensures all required CWB qualifications are current.

Possesses a solid understanding of welding equipment and welding accessories.

Possesses knowledge of pre-heat and post-heat temperatures and applications.
