Join our team as a Senior Project Manager, Transportation Infrastructure, in our Alberta Business Unit.
This is a leadership opportunity that will enable the right candidate to grow a service business that aligns with their own personal and cultural values and reflects the needs of the communities that we serve.
We are seeking an aspiring, self-motivated, and collaborative Senior Project Manager to join our team of experts committed to leading projects and building relationships across our Alberta Business Unit.
This position will empower and support a team of project managers and assistant project managers.
In this role you’ll join our team of experts who lead the project management of transportation infrastructure projects of a varying scope and complexity for municipal and provincial clients.
The ideal candidate for this role will have expertise leading the planning, design and construction of transportation infrastructure projects including highways, urban roadways, bridges, and other civil works.
Responsibilities
- Lead, delegate, and empower multiple project delivery teams. Oversee project delivery team performance. Select, organize and influence the performance of multi-disciplined project teams.
- Lead the implementation of training and tools in support of service delivery.
- Provide project leadership and design review expertise to the client's projects, representing their best interests and achieving their strategic end goals.
- Be a trusted advisor to the client, applying your deep understanding of design, construction and operation of a variety of transportation and civil infrastructure assets.
- Lead clients through the set-up, initiation, execution, monitoring and reporting of their projects.
- Act as the key interface between Colliers Project Leaders and the Client.
- Chair project and site meetings, identify and resolve project issues and coordinate multiple stakeholders.
- Serve as the relationship manager role for select clients with the goal to nurture trusted relationships.
- Contribute to the strategic growth of the infrastructure services business unit.
- Apply your leadership and communication skills to bring together stakeholders and project teams.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years of experience of consulting or public sector engineering experience delivering Transportation and other civil infrastructure projects for local and regional municipalities and provincial ministries.
- Experience closing new business, winning key pursuits (incl. client interviews), and mentoring new employees.
- A degree or diploma in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Eng. and / or PMP designations are required.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
- A broad written and verbal communication skill set including strong presentation, stakeholder facilitation and report writing skills.
- Effective client, stakeholder, and people management skills, matched with the ability to effectively influence others and successfully resolve a variety of commercial, people, client and technical issues.
