Job Description :

Our client is large and established in the retail and manufacturing space and is looking for a Financial Analyst to join their growing finance team. The role will be a mix of reporting, accounting, planning, and analysis. It is a dynamic role with varied responsibilities and the opportunity to report into a Director to provide lots of opportunity for growth.

Responsibilities of the Financial Analyst is as follows but not limited to :

  • Prepare in-depth monthly review of business financial results, while also highlighting the performance of all key operational initiatives and business risks / opportunities
  • Leverage data to develop meaningful and innovative reporting that will deliver insights that enhance business decisions
  • Work closely with accounting to improve the overall efficiency of the finance organization as well as improve visibility and depth of understanding of all key financial metrics
  • Support the development and continuous evaluation of short and long-term strategic financial objectives
  • Support annual financial planning process, quarterly and monthly financial forecasts, and ongoing analysis of actuals versus prior periods, plan and / or forecasts
  • Support the development of an capital plan supported with business cases to ensure future investments are aligned with strategic priorities and are delivering strong returns
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with business leaders across the company to identify their needs and seek a full range of business solutions
  • Prepare monthly journal entries, reconciliations and financial reports for payroll-related accounts
  • Perform in-depth variance analysis for compensation & benefit-related accounts on a regular basis
  • Help with annual fiscal budget preparation for payroll-related accounts
  • Help to manage all bonus programs and track year-to-date bonus liabilities
  • Help to manage the payout of bonuses and profit-sharing programs
  • Manual payroll cheques reconciliation
  • Vacation reconciliation
  • Prepare merit increase sheet once a year
  • Compensation benchmarking analysis
  • Analyze the financial impact of minimum wage increases
  • Help to build a Compensation Band
  • Any other compensation and benefit projects as required

Job Requirements :

  • CPA designation
  • Minimum of 2+ years’ experience as a financial analyst
  • Possesses a collaborative work style, is flexible, highly organized, and able to prioritize multiple deliverables to ensure tight timelines are met
