Start Date : April 15, 2025 to December 1, 2025

Department : Marketing

Carolyn Cody, Vice-President, Business Operations & Marketing

Must be based in British Columbia, Canada.

Location :

This position will require time split between our two offices – Downtown Vancouver & BC Lions Training Facility with some days at BC Place and other locations as required.

Job Description :

This entry-level position of Coordinator, Communications & Advertising will be to assist in the football club's daily communications initiatives as well as liaising with media partners for advertising requirements. These key areas are, included but not limited to, as follows :

  • Assisting the communications and digital media department at all home games, Lions events and practices as required.
  • Liaising with media partners on the execution of advertising requirements such as ad submissions, link tracking, contesting fulfillment, etc.
  • Drafting advertising copy and radio scripts, and other responsibilities required.
  • Assisting with the organization and execution of BC Lions media conferences.
  • Assisting in the coordination of game-day operations, including media accreditation and troubleshooting, interview coordination, advertising partner contesting, and media centre set-up including printing depth charts and game notes.
  • Assisting with the coordination of game week media appearances.
  • Assisting in the writing and distribution of team press releases when required.
  • Contributing editorial content covering football - including game previews and game recaps – and updating the BC Lions website.
  • Coordinating and organizing photos after each BC Lions game day, as well as any event photography.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications :

  • Graduate from a post-secondary communications, public relations or journalism program
  • A keen knowledge of and passion for BC Lions football.
  • Diligent attention to detail with high organizational skills who can manage multiple tasks at once, specifically during home game weeks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications abilities
  • Successful candidate must possess the ability to write about football, whether it's feature or game-driven.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite / graphic design considered an asset.
  • Experience working in a communications role with a pro sports team is an asset.
  • Special Requirements :

  • Must be comfortable with irregular hours for the entire term, including evenings and weekends as required
  • Must be available to work at all BC Lions home games
  • Must be based CURRENTLY in British Columbia, Canada
  • Salary Range :

  • 37,000-$42,500
