The Opportunity

As CEO, you will be the driving force behind 4-H Alberta’s continued growth and success. Reporting to the Board of Directors, you will provide executive leadership for both 4-H Alberta and the Alberta 4-H Foundation. Your role will encompass strategic planning, operational management, stakeholder engagement, and youth program innovation.

What You’ll Do :

  • Executive Leadership : Cultivate an engaging culture that will inspire a team of staff and volunteers to create positive change in communities through the effective and efficient delivery of programs and services.
  • Strategic Planning : Develop and implement innovative strategies that drive growth, organizational excellence, and legacy-building initiatives.
  • Youth & Community Engagement : Champion youth leadership by fostering innovative, mentorship-driven programs founded in agricultural roots.
  • Financial & Risk Management : Manage a $4M budget and oversee assets valued at $14M ensuring prudent financial stewardship, sustainability, and compliance with fiscal practices and governance standards.
  • Stakeholder Relations : Act as the face of 4-H Alberta, building strong relationships with funders, community partners, and stakeholders.

What We’re Looking For :

We are seeking an inspiring leader who embodies our core values and can build on our legacy of youth empowerment. You should have :

  • A visionary mindset : Ability to develop and execute long-term strategic goals.
  • Commitment to youth development : A passion for mentoring and inspiring young leaders to create positive change.
  • Stakeholder engagement : Strong networking, communication, and relationship-building skills with diverse stakeholders, including volunteers, funders, government, and community groups.
  • Financial acumen : Experience managing multimillion-dollar budgets and assets.
  • Qualifications :

  • Undergraduate degree complemented with 5-7 years of progressive, executive-level experience, preferably within a non-profit or charitable organization or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with at least five years of executive-level experience.
