Currently, our Toronto office is seeking an Environmental Lead to join us at our downtown office.
This role is for an experienced Environmental Engineer, who will have direct responsibility for leading a team of professionals to deliver the environmental program on our projects. This may involve some site visits to an east end project office as well.
Essential Responsibilities :
- Directing a team of environmental specialists that may include hydrogeologists, risk assessment specialists, soil and groundwater contamination and management specialists, environmental planning specialists, erosion and sediment control specialists, climate change and sustainability specialists, aquatic specialists, species at risk specialists, biologists, noise and vibration specialists, etc.
- Leading subcontracts, scope, supervising submission deadlines, approval processes, approving invoices, and evaluating progress.
- Ensuring environmental issues and requirements are met in accordance with the agreements.
- Establishing and maintaining working relationships with relevant Environmental Authorities and Interested Parties.
- Taking a lead role in internal environmental design reviews, including development of mitigation and compensation proposals acceptable to the Province and Environmental Authorities.
- Liaising with the Client's Representative and acting as the single point representative on all matters relating to environmental management.
- Implementing the environmental management plans and monitoring and verifying compliance with the requirements of such plans.
- Implementing environmental quality management systems and procedures in collaboration with the Quality Manager responsible for the Environmental Quality Management Plan.
Qualifications :
More than 10 years of demonstrated experience in a senior management position on transit projects.An appropriately Qualified Professional (a degree from a recognized institution with specialization in environmental planning).Knowledge of the Province of Ontario’s Transit Project Assessment Process, GO Transit, and Environmental Assessment Act (Ontario).Must have rail & transit experience in the Province of Ontario.Demonstrated experience and knowledge of the federal and provincial environmental policies, procedures, and legislation.Experience in liaising with specialty consultants.Effective communication, conflict resolution, and organization skills.Must possess effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, and the ability to coordinate the efforts of others to accomplish objectives.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.J-18808-Ljbffr
