OUR SUMMER SQUAD

Applications are open to current post-secondary students and recent graduates. This is a great opportunity for a current design student seeking an accredited internship as a requirement to graduate. We also welcome applicants from historically underrepresented groups or professionals making a career transition with less than 3 years of experience looking to take the next step in their career.

This is a summer contract that will give you valuable exposure and skill-building opportunities within several of our departments. Salt XC’s Summer Squad will consist of a 4-month long contract, full-time hours, from May to August 2025, with the opportunity for a contract extension beyond this date.

Over the duration of the program, you can expect opportunities to network, meet Salters across other departments, participate in additional learning & development opportunities, and receive mentorship from those currently in their desired field.

This is a Hybrid work opportunity with 2-3 days in office required at our Salt Toronto Head Office in Liberty Village, Downtown Toronto.

ROLE OVERVIEW

SALT XC is seeking Design Interns to join our creative team specializing in either 3D / Motion Design, AI Design or General Design. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in an agency setting, working alongside experienced designers on real-world projects.

As a Design Intern , you’ll collaborate with the Design Team to develop skills, learn industry tools, and contribute to innovative projects across Experiential Marketing (XM), Branding, Digital, and Print Production. From concept to execution, you’ll bring creative ideas to life while refining your technical and problem-solving skills. You will assist in designing assets for various projects, including branding, digital, print, and experiential marketing.

The 3D / Motion Design Intern role will also support executing 3D, motion / video and experiential design. You'll be expected to bring fresh, diverse ideas to the table, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and adapt designs based on feedback while maintaining creative integrity.

The AI Design Intern will play a key role in exploring AI-driven design solutions with genuine curiosity that could help push creative and technological boundaries. You'll be expected to experiment with emerging AI tools, contribute fresh, diverse ideas, collaborate with cross-functional teams.

The ideal candidate works well independently and collaboratively with a team as well as being versatile, a problem solver, enthusiastic and eager to learn.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist in the creation of 2D and 3D design assets for various projects, including branding, campaigns, and digital experiences.
• Collaborate with the Design Team, Senior Designers, and Art Directors on concept development and execution.
• Maintain high attention to detail and a strong sense of craftsmanship in your work.
• Bring fresh, out-of-the-box ideas to the table.
• Adapt designs based on feedback while maintaining creative integrity.
