The IT Solutions Lead AML is responsible for technical solutions related AML business requirements and ongoing support of AML related technical applications / systems. This leader will ensure the technical solutions implemented supports the bank’s compliance with regulatory requirements including, translating complex business needs into effective, scalable, and innovative technology solutions. The IT Solutions Lead / AML will oversee the development, implementation, and optimization of AML applications / systems, while ensuring alignment with the bank’s strategic goals and regulatory compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary liaison between the AML Compliance teams, compliance officers, and the technology departments.
- Develop and maintain a strategic roadmap for AML technology solutions, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
- Work with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document AML business requirements, including but not limited to Know Your Customer (KYC), Transaction Monitoring, Client Risk Rating and Sanctions / Watchlist Screening and regulatory reporting.
- Translate business needs into technical specifications for development teams.
- Lead the evaluation, selection, and implementation of AML technology platforms and tools in collaboration with AML Compliance.
- Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to customize solutions for compliance as well as maximum efficiency and effectiveness.
- Establish a target operating model for day to day support of AML IT solution that meets expectations of the AML compliance teams including SLA’s in line with regulatory expectations.
- Ensure all AML solutions meet regulatory requirements, including local and international standards as outlined by the AML Compliance team (e.g., FATF, OFAC, FINCEN) as well as adherence to other compliance and security requirements & standards (e.g. Privacy, Cybersecurity, B-10 TPRM)
- Proactively identify potential IT compliance risks and implement mitigation strategies through sustainable technology solutions.
- Lead cross-functional teams, including developers, data scientists, and analysts, to deliver AML solutions.
- Provide training and mentorship to team members, ensuring continuous professional development.
- Report to senior management and the Chief AML Officer on the progress of AML technology initiatives.
- Communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.Minimum of 8 years in technology roles with experience financial services.Demonstrated expertise in IT solutions available in the AML industry such as Actimize, SAS, or equivalent tools.Proficiency in data analytics, machine learning, and big data technologies.Experience in system integration, API design, and cloud-based solutions.Exceptional project management skills with a track record of delivering complex technology solutions.Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and inspire teams.Experience with AML compliance is considered an Asset. AML training can be provided if required.BilingualismFrench and English) is required.Professional working proficiency in French and English languages required as position involves frequent written and oral communication on complex matters with internal and external parties in both languages.Key Attributes
