The Challenge Ahead :
As a Machine Learning Engineer, you will deploy systems, tools, and models that support our EA Sports FC franchise. You are a technically oriented individual, knowledgeable of software engineering principles and technology used to create data-driven products and services.
You report to an embedded data science team in FC and will work with us, along with product managers, engineers, and technical leaders who bring EA Sports FC to life.
What a Machine Learning Engineer does at EA :
- Define and refine our technical architecture for deploying machine learning or similar data-driven tools and services in EA Sports FC.
- Leverage central technology for deploying internal tools and player-facing personalization systems.
- Understand how to use machine learning principles to help learn and tune in-game experiences while understanding their consequences.
- Document and formalize processes for maintaining our codebase and creating safe and scalable deployment practices.
- Support peers with technical reviews, ensuring quality coding and deployment practices.
Requirements :
- BS in a technical field, such as Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or Statistics.
- 2 or more years of experience in engineering, data science, analytics, or a related area in a consumer products-oriented industry.
- Familiarity with machine learning models like LightGBM, Random Forest, and Multi-armed bandits, and experience deploying these models in a production context.
- Experience deploying models in a production environment using technologies like Apache Airflow, Kubernetes, Databricks, or others.
- Experience working with at least one of the modern cloud platforms : AWS, GCP, etc. Familiar with common platform functions and architectures, like AWS S3, EC2 operations, etc.
- Experience in ANSI SQL and modern query engines (Trino, Redshift, etc.). Familiar with data architecture best practices, such as ETL, data model design, data visualization tools, etc.
- Experience with experimental design and measurement.
- Knowledge of programming best practices and experience using CI / CD with Gitlab, Github, or similar tools.
BC COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these locations. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the base salary range and benefits for your specific location.

Salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.
BASE SALARY RANGES
British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria) :
º $96,400 - $133,900 CAN Annually
Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI / QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental / adoption leave), extended health / dental / vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees.
Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
