The R&D and Order Fulfillment business units are based in Dallas, Texas.

Primary Purpose

The Project Manager (Construction Emphasis) will plan, organize and execute all aspects of the project cycle from post-sale to customer handover.

In this role, the Project Manager will be responsible for completing projects timely, on budget and according to specifications.

Tasks will include, but are not limited to, creating project schedules, managing the project teams, providing invoicing and billing details, conducting site training as required and communicating project progress to key stakeholders.

Responsibilities / Job Duties

Planning

  • Plan and develop multiple project ideas.
  • Identify and understand project goals, objectives, and scope in order to outlines tasks, timelines and resources required.
  • Develop contingency plans for scheduling uncertainties.
  • Collaborate with Global Fulfillment, Finance, Quality Assurance and R&D teams on each project, where needed.

Documentation

  • Create Gantt charts using MS Project and / or other Project Management software.
  • Schedule and facilitate regular project meetings with the internal project teams.
  • Record meeting minutes and provide project updates to key stakeholders and other team members on a weekly basis.
  • Oversee change notice processes.
  • Adhere to relevant laws, regulations, and standards.
  • Consistent usage of MS Project, Outlook, Word, Excel and Visio.

Management

  • Set and manage customer expectations, developing a detailed project plan, defining the scope of the project, understanding project risks and assigning team members to specific tasks.
  • Manage any issues that arise such as missed deadlines, cost overruns and scope creep.
  • Liaise with engineers, general contractors, electrical contractors, etc.
  • Attend project site meetings on a regular basis (travel required).
  • Ensure installation work maintains at a high-quality level.
  • Manage progress billing schedules and communicate regularly with the finance team.
  • Motivate and lead the project teams by keeping open and honest communication and continue forming working relationships.
  • Capture customer feedback in order to gain, maintain and improve long-term customer relationships.

Evaluating and Reporting

  • Continuously monitor project dependencies and schedules.
  • Track and report project team hours.
  • Maintain material tracking reports.
  • Analyze project profitability.
  • Project invoicing and budgeting.
  • Measure and report customer satisfaction rates at the end of each project.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Prior experience in a construction environment (5+years).
  • Prior experience with low voltage systems, install (5+years).
  • PMP Certification strongly preferred.
  • Technical project manager experience, preferred.
  • Prior experience working directly with internal and external clients, vendors, general contractors, etc.
  • Strong understanding of invoicing and project billing.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple competing projects.
  • Background in business skills, management, budgeting and analysis.
  • Must be able to travel (up to 50%).
