Salary : Based on Experience

  • Candidates must have authorization in place to work in Canada.
  • Seeking professionals with 15+ years of expertise in third-party or operational risk management coupled with 3+ management expertise (including management of other managers) and a Bachelor's degree.

Overview

The VP Third-Party Resilience is responsible for establishing and carrying out global governance and programs to identify, assess, mitigate, and report on the risks the Company faces relative to our business activities with third parties.

Responsible for the global oversight and coordination of 2nd line of defense activities and programs related to third-party risk management, and serves as the primary advisor on third-party risk management to segment Chief Risk officers.

Responsibilities

Manages the Operational Risk Framework

  • Leads a team responsible for the development and implementation of third-party resilience framework and processes ensuring that all governance, risk, and compliance stakeholders are represented and ensuring the framework and policies are in line with applicable regulations, rating agency standards, and strategic imperatives of the organization.
  • Leads and facilitates the process of managing, monitoring, and reporting on third-party vendor risks, including partnerships and joint ventures.

Leads efforts to build and enhance global risk management tools and automation related to third-party risk management activities.

  • Act as the primary Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM) lead in regulatory matters, including exams and meetings.
  • Leads, facilitates, oversees, and directs the third-party resilience team and associated risk and governance processes.

Assists business segments to develop local third-party risk management processes that are appropriate to their risks.

Serves as the Company’s internal expert advisor on third-party resilience. Acts as a corporate advocate for all third-party risks and related policies, processes, leading practices, and methodologies.

Create a culture of risk awareness within the organization.

  • Mentors associates within the department. Performs supervisory duties including, but not limited to; hiring, training, evaluating, coaching, and disciplining of direct reports.
  • Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education & Experience

Required :

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Post-graduate or professional qualification in a related field preferred.
  • 15+ years of experience in third-party or operational risk management or related risk fields with responsibilities for management reporting.
  • 3+ years of management experience including management of other managers.

Preferred :

Exhibited experience leading a global risk function.

  • Guides, influences, and persuades others either internally in other areas or externally with customers or agencies.
  • Exceptional ability to make timely and effective decisions and produce results through planning and the implementation and evaluation of programs and policies.
  • Designs and influences the strategic direction of the function, takes extreme initiative in understanding the risk profile associated with third-party management, engages with key leaders and stakeholders to understand the risk profile, and is experienced in making informed decisions on their own.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and decision-making skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Project management skills. Demonstrates ability to evaluate project objectives and scope feasibility, gain understanding, schedule resources, and manage budget to plan.
  • Manages a generally homogeneous team; adapts plans and priorities to meet service and / or operational changes.
  • Ability to quickly learn and understand the business of the Company.
