About the work environment :

Peoples Group offers a flexible and hybrid work environment. In this role you will work a combination of in-office and remotely from home. Typically, you'll be working regular business hours, Monday to Friday between 8 : 00am and 4 : 30pm with flexibility around start & end times.

We are hiring for this position out of our Toronto, Calgary or Vancouver office. Successful candidates who apply outside of these areas will be expected to relocate and reside in a location that is within a commutable distance.

About you :

You are a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in internal auditing and regulatory compliance. You are passionate about ensuring organizational integrity and adept at identifying and mitigating risks. Your excellent communication skills enable you to convey complex information effectively to stakeholders at varying levels.

About you / qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional certification such as CPA, CIA, CISA, CFE or CAMS.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in internal auditing, with a focus on regulatory compliance.
  • In-depth knowledge of OSFI, CDIC, and / or FINTRAC requirements, and knowledge of other relevant banking regulatory requirements (e.g Trust & Loan Companies Act, Bank Act, Consumer Protection, AMF legislations) will be considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of internal audit processes and risk-based approaches and methodologies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with experience working with various stakeholders within an organization.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High level of integrity and attention to detail.
  • Strong proficiency with systems; Word, PowerPoint, Outlook; Intermediate to advanced level of Excel (pivot tables, IF functions, Lookup functions).
  • Adaptable, flexible, innovative, and responsive to change with an ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced, and multi-entity environment.

About the day-to-day :

  • Lead small to medium sized audit engagements to ensure compliance with regulatory standards
  • Develop Risk & Control Matrices (RCMs) and related testing procedures.
  • Conduct thorough and detailed testing to analyze and assess internal controls and risk management processes.
  • Present observations to auditees and draft audit reports for senior management.
  • Collaborate with various departments to identify and later validate implementation of audit recommendations.
  • Keep up-to-date with changes in regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Mentor and guide junior auditors to develop their skills and knowledge.
  • Annual Compensation :

    Peoples Group is pleased to offer employees a competitive annual salary plus a discretionary profit share opportunity. Salary for this position will vary between $80,000 and $100,000 per year depending on the knowledge, skills, abilities and experience that the chosen candidate possesses.
