Position Overview :

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Software Installer to join our team and play a vital role in deploying Point of Sale (POS) systems for our clients. This role involves installing, configuring, training and troubleshooting POS software and hardware to ensure smooth operations. The ideal candidate will have technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a customer-centric mindset.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Installation & Configuration :

Install POS software on hardware devices such as terminals, self service and peripheral devices (e.g., printers, barcode scanners, self checkouts).

  • Configure software settings according to client specifications, including payment processing, inventory management, and reporting features.
  • Ensure compatibility of hardware and software with the client’s existing IT infrastructure.
  • System Testing :
  • Perform system checks to verify proper installation and functionality.

  • Test connectivity between POS components, including network configurations and cloud-based systems.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues during the setup process.
  • Client Training :
  • Provide on-site or remote training to end-users on POS system functionality and usage.

  • Create user-friendly documentation and reference guides tailored to client needs.
  • Troubleshooting & Support :
  • Diagnose and resolve software installation and integration issues.

  • Collaborate with the technical support team to address escalated issues efficiently.
  • Assist clients in understanding error codes and fixing minor issues independently.
  • Project Management :
  • Work closely with project and sales teams to ensure timely and accurate deployment of POS systems.

  • Maintain detailed records of installation processes, configurations, and customer interactions.
  • Compliance & Maintenance :
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, industry standards, and data security protocols.

  • Perform regular software updates and maintenance as required.
  • Qualifications :
  • Education :
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate or bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field is preferred.

  • Experience :
  • Proven experience with POS systems or related software / hardware installation.

  • Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, Linux, iOS) and basic networking concepts.
  • Networking knowledge
  • Skills :
  • Strong customer service, troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple installations simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with SQL databases, payment gateways, and API integrations is a plus.
  • Certifications :
  • Relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, or vendor-specific certifications) are a bonus.

    Work Environment :

  • May involve travel to client sites for installations and support.
  • Requires flexibility to accommodate clients’ schedules, including occasional evening or weekend work.
