Position Title : Senior Accounting Analyst, Corporate Finance
Reports To : Director, Corporate Finance
Department : Corporate Finance
Term : Permanent Full-Time
Work Arrangements : This is a hybrid role. You will work in our office in Waterloo, ON a minimum of two (2) assigned, consecutive days every other week, plus a fifth (5th) assigned day per month. You are welcome to work from the office more than the minimum requirement and there may be some roles that are required to work in our office more than the minimum requirement.
The Opportunity : The Corporate Finance team is looking for an individual ready to learn more about entity level reporting at a large financial institution. This position will have accountability for various underlying operational finance functions and processes, primarily expense reporting. This role will also be expected to deliver technical solutions and tools to facilitate enhanced reporting and analysis.
What you will be doing :
- Monthly expense allocations and reporting; includes maintenance of expense models and cost centres while ensuring compliance with approved allocation methodologies and expense policies
- Coordination of the annual expense budgeting cycle for the company, working closely with cost centre managers and business leaders
- Implement dynamic reporting functionality through the use of Microsoft Power BI and possibly other tools, as appropriate
- Work closely with all members of the Corporate Finance team, including the Directors and Vice President
What you will bring :
Post-secondary education with emphasis on accounting and / or business administrationMinimum 3 years of relevant experienceFamiliarity with general accounting concepts, operational finance functions and technical knowledge of accounting systemsExpert Excel and Power BI skillsExperience setting up and implementing Power BI reporting, including connecting backend data to develop efficient and sustainable reporting and analyticsExperience with automating and streamlining processes is an assetFoundational problem solving, prioritizing and analytical thinking skillsWhat's in it for you :
