Responsibilities

As the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Manager in Boucherville, QC your responsibilities will be :

  • Develop, review, and implement action plans, procedures, and policies related to OHS and the environment, directly contributing to the improvement of key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Support teams daily in applying the OHS program and implementing their action plans.
  • Maintain an active presence on the floor by supporting supervisors and representing management to employees.
  • Conduct risk analyses, propose corrective measures, and ensure their rigorous follow-up.
  • Design and update training programs tailored to employees.
  • Collect, analyze, and keep statistical data and KPIs in OHS and environmental management up to date.
  • Optimize and implement new prevention programs.
  • Plan and lead OHS meetings to engage and raise awareness among teams.
  • Oversee the OHS committee and ensure effective communication of key information to employees.
  • Respond promptly to OHS or environmental incident reports.
  • Conduct ergonomic assessments of workstations and recommend improvements.
  • Identify and assess workplace risks to ensure a safe and compliant environment.

You will also contribute to the implementation and maintenance of ISO 14 001 requirements, reinforcing our commitment to environmental management.

Qualifications

The following qualifications and certificates are prerequisites for this Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Manager role in Boucherville, QC :

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial relations and / or certificate in occupational health and safety (OHS), or any combination of relevant education and experience
  • Over five years of experience in manufacturing environments, ideally in a unionized and multi-site setting
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience in the development and deployment of OHS training programs
  • In-depth knowledge of regulations, procedures, and policies governing OHS and the environment
  • Knowledge of provincial legislation regarding occupational health and safety
  • Expertise in ISO 14 001 management and the application of environmental practices
  • Knowledge of ergonomic principles
  • Leadership to strengthen the OHS prevention culture
  • Strong interpersonal skills, adaptability, and autonomy
  • Rigorous, well-organized, and critical thinking skills
