Job Description
We are looking for an experienced AZ Driver in Kitchener, ON. The primary responsibility will involve moving loads of scrap metal from our customer site in Elora to our site in Kitchener.
You may also be required to assist other locations from time to time.
This is a full-time position from Monday to Friday starting at 8 : 00am . You may also be asked to work overtime on some weekends (occasional weekend rotation amongst other drivers, one Saturday OR Sunday every few weeks, 2-6 hours).
Qualifications
- Operating an AZ-class vehicle to transport metal materials to and from designated locations
- Performing multiple tasks in various styles of trucks (tractors pulling end dump trailers, super roll off trailer, etc)
- Shunting trailers in and out of docks
- Safely loading and unloading metal materials onto the truck using appropriate equipment and secure the load
- Using a crane to assist with balancing loads in trailers or bins before moving load as necessary (training provided)
- Performing manual tarping if necessary
- Performing routine pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck
- Completing accurate and thorough records of deliveries and any other required documentation
Additional Information
- Valid AZ driver's license with a clean CVOR and Drivers Abstract
- Experience driving 18 speed manual transmission
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an AZ Driver
- Must be physically fit to hand tarp 40 and 53yd bins
- Physical stamina and the ability to perform loading and unloading activities as required
- Familiarity with metal recycling processes and materials is an asset
