Position Summary :
The Warehouse Manager is accountable for ensuring the safe, productive, reliable, timely execution, and monitoring & analysis of all warehouse and inventory control operations within the DC, while supporting all restaurants within its designated region.
This role leads and supports the warehouse operations within this 24-7 multi-temp environment. The role is responsible for achieving safety, service and finance goals, through continuous improvement initiatives, innovation and through leadership of the warehouse supervisory team, the inventory control team and warehouse employees.
Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to :
Responsible for the safety of all employees and visitors through compliance of Martin Brower’s Health & Safety policies and provincial legislation
Investigation of accidents and incidents to ensure all reporting is completedDevelop and administer safe warehouse training programsActively promote health, safety and wellness to prevent injuries and accidentsParticipate in Joint Health and Safety Committee meetings as required, as the senior management member responsible to respond to recommendations and safety issues / concerns raisedConduct workplace inspections, identify hazards and resolve safety related concernsEnsure complete and thorough implementation of all preventative or remedial safety measuresEnsure that all injuries, near misses and damages are properly investigated and reported according to Martin Brower procedure and standards; problem solving to identify root causes to prevent recurrencesEnsure that department supervisors are effectively managing the Modified Work ProgramEnsure department recognizes and operates in an environmentally competent mannerLeadership, Morale, Relationships and CommunicationsAct as a Leader in order to achieve Martin Brower Goals and Objectives

On-going warehouse employee / inventory control / supervisor trainingResponsible to ensure that department achieves operational goals (monthly, quarterly, yearly basis)Ensure weekly Pride (key performance indicators) reporting is complete and accurateFinancial Responsibilities :Manage day-to-day operational expenditures
Prepare monthly, quarterly and yearly financial reports detailing departmental goals, Identifying variances from budget, reasons for variances and in necessary actions needed to reduce costsMonitor and control variable departmental costs on daily / weekly basis.Review and approval of weekly payrollAnalyze current and future equipment requirements and prepare business cases if neededMaintain statistical information of warehouse employees, inventory control, equipment, operational schedules and service levels to monitor performanceLeadership, Morale, Relationships and CommunicationsAct as a Leader in order to achieve Martin Brower of Canada’s Goals and Objectives

Responsible for the hiring of Warehouse and Inventory Control employeesAssist in the development and regular updating of training plans and ensure effective implementation and use of resourcesCreate and administer work schedule for Warehouse / IC departmentConduct performance reviews for Supervisors and IC Coordinators regarding salary changes, developmental requirements, promotions etc.Review of Job Rotation and Attendance ManagementOversee labour relations by managing grievance procedures, discipline, employee concerns, etc., within the parameters of the collective agreementFacility & Equipment :Ensure compliance with industry, company and sanitation standards, including making sure physical plant and warehouse equipment is free from hazards and meets legislated requirements
Maintain a database for warehouse equipment and facilities; recommend to management equipment that improves operational excellence, organizational leadership or improved earnings / reduced costDevelop facilities design and improvement plans to management and recommend changes to management that increases work efficiency, which have a positive impact on safety, quality, productivity, including process, procedure, layout, schedule, or staffing changesEnsure the operations follow all Safe Food for Canadians Regulations (SFCR), Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) and Good Warehouse Practices (GWP) / Good Drivers Practices (GDP) for transport rules and regulationsOther projects or duties as assignedRequired Skills and Experience :
University degree / College diploma in logistics or equivalent experienceMinimum three to five years progressive warehouse and inventory control management experience, with a focus on strong leadership and relationship building skillsExperience in a high-velocity distribution environment would be a strong assetStrong work ethicExcellent time management skills, ability to manage multiple prioritiesStrong, interactive team playerIntegrative thinker and excellent problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and presentation skills (verbal and written)High initiative and self-motivationAbility to produce accurate and timely reportsStrong knowledge of Microsoft Office; (MS Word, Excel, Access, Power Point etc.)This position must pass a post-offer background and drug testPhysical Demands and Work Environment :
