Job Title : Risk Analyst
Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and self-motivated Risk Analyst with strong data analysis skills and technical expertise. Reporting to the Manager - Risk, this role supports risk management activities by overseeing risk data, maintaining databases, and generating insightful reports. The Risk Analyst acts as a superuser for the risk management database, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and transparency to enhance capital efficiency and project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain the risk management database, including configuration, user access, troubleshooting, and upgrades.
- Develop and document work instructions and guidelines for risk data entry, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
- Design and maintain automated risk report templates to enhance efficiency.
- Support Risk Assessment Officers (RAOs) by managing and updating risk data within the system.
- Analyze risk trends and common issues, generating reports that improve risk predictability and decision-making.
- Develop plans for gap analysis and system enhancements, including resource allocation and timeline management.
- Collaborate with IT Services and software providers to address system issues and implement updates.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and monitor progress toward risk management maturity and data process improvements.
- Coordinate with project management teams to integrate risk data with scheduling and cost tracking.
- Prepare presentations, reports, and status updates for stakeholders at all levels.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Experience in database management, including configuration, maintenance, and upgrades.Knowledge of programming concepts; SQL database management experience is a plus.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint preferred.Familiarity with risk management tools such as Predict, Jaspersoft, and iReport is an asset.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and recommend solutions.Excellent communication, relationship management, and conflict resolution skills.Education & Experience
Post-secondary diploma or degree in Information Technology, Business Technology Management, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.Experience with databases and data management in a professional setting.Previous experience in a Project Management Office (PMO) is an asset.Work Environment & Project Scope
The Risk Analyst will work within a project management, engineering, and construction management environment.The team supports over 300 projects and programs, ranging from $1M to over $1B in capital cost.This role involves cross-functional collaboration with risk teams, project controls, and senior management.Problem-Solving & Analytical Expectations
Ability to interpret risk data from multiple sources and enhance team awareness of best practices.Understanding of construction and project management principles, including project scope, budgeting, scheduling, and risk assessment.
