Who we need
We are looking for a Copywriter to join our Marketing and Communications team at Toronto Film School (TFS) - creative industries.
You will develop creative marketing copy to captivate our audiences and elevate our brand experience with compelling content and persuasive stories.
You will report directly to our Content Strategist as part of the Brand Marketing Go to Market Team and partner with our Go to Market Videographer.
From attention-grabbing print ads to video scripts, student lifecycle profiles to blogs, and more, your role will vary from day to day.
One minute you will create a 360-campaign; the next, you will work on a quick turnaround product launch. If you can grasp project requirements quickly, offer valuable insight, and are an imaginative writer with an eye for detail, we'd like to meet you.

What You Will Do :
Bring our stories to life in short-form, long-form, and everything in between. You will participate in content strategy development and write clear and concise creative copy for a wide range of demand generation and lead nurturing formats, including landing pages, email campaigns, social media, digital ads, blogs, media, collateral, and more.
You will use SEO principles to maximize your copy's reach and boost traffic to the company website for optimal online visibility.
And you will be required to perform some editing tasks and revisions to help adhere to the company's style guide and brand voice.
Learn and analyze. You will gain a deep understanding of our audiences' needs and competitive differentiators, and your words will inspire, inform and engage our target audiences.
You will interpret copywriting briefs to understand project requirements.
Partner. You will collaborate with brand, creative, communication and performance teams to support our Go-to-market strategies, suggest ideas, and build on the team's collective concepts.
What you bring :
Energy, enthusiasm and a passion to write. You have a degree or diploma in English, Marketing, Advertising, or a related field.
You have 5+ years of experience in copywriting and marketing campaigns, ideally for post-secondary education or in a creative area such as film or television.
You have excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills, with a proven ability to create targeted, compelling copy across the marketing funnel.
You have 2-3 writing samples of your best work as documents, links, or a portfolio you can submit for our review.
Knowledge and skills. You can interpret information and conduct research. You have exposure to various online content strategies and experience with SEO.
You have excellent time-management and organizational skills.
Relationship-building finesse. You are highly collaborative, with a deep appreciation for diverse ideas and approaches.
You have an awareness of how to communicate with a global audience - and you speak the language of innovative creators. You can build trust, influence decisions, and work closely across teams at any level.
