Reporting to the Deputy Chief Building Official, the Summer Student, Building Services position is responsible for :

• Review design drawings and specifications for compliance with the requirements of the Ontario Building Code and all other applicable laws (i.e. municipal By-Laws, standards, other related codes)
• Conduct Fence Inspections.
• Responds to related inquiries.
• Provide guidelines, recommendations and interpretations regarding the Ontario Building Code and other applicable laws to external and internal customers, including architects, engineers, lawyers, general public, and others.
• Reviews all agreements and legal documents to ensure that the terms and conditions precedent to the permit issuance have been fulfilled.
• Calculates all applicable fees and municipal charges.
• Maintain amicable relations with the public and fellow staff; and
• Other administrative customer service duties.

Hours :

35 hours per week, 8 : 30am-4 : 30pm

All Summer Students must be Full-time day students at a recognized secondary or post-secondary institution and be returning to full time attendance in the fall of 2025.
