With over seven decades of excellence, we've completed 1,000+ projects and are driven by commitment to professionalism, integrity, and innovation.About the Role : As a Health & Safety Manager, you will lead and oversee Eastern Construction’s Occupational Health and Safety Program across all operations, ensuring compliance with provincial regulations and fostering a culture of safety. You will work closely with teams across projects, advocating for health and safety excellence, preventing workplace incidents, and maintaining industry certifications.Responsibilities : Implement and manage the company’s Occupational Health and Safety Program, ensuring compliance with all provincial regulations and industry standards.Oversee safety practices across the Head Office, Yard Operations, Field Operations, ensuring adherence to guidelines by employees, contractors, and visitors.Conduct detailed workplace inspections, identify hazards, and propose proactive solutions to mitigate risks and prevent injuries.Manage the Joint Health and Safety Committees and advise Eastern’s Central Committee.Develop and deliver health and safety programs, maintaining an up-to-date database of employee credentials and ensuring compliance with training requirements.Monitor and analyze accident and near-miss data, identifying trends and communicating key insights to senior management for resolution.Manage return-to-work programs and review worker’s compensation reports, providing regular updates to senior management.Maintain and update health and safety certifications, including COR and WSIB Health & Safety Excellence Program, ensuring compliance and maximizing potential incentives.Act as an advocate for health and safety excellence within the industry, fostering a strong safety culture.Qualifications : Education : Post-secondary education in a related field; Gold Seal Designation is an asset.Certifications : National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO), COR / ISO Internal Auditor Certifications.Experience : Minimum 5 years in health and safety management within the construction industry, with expertise in compliance, risk mitigation, and industry best practices.Technical Skills : Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety management systems; ability to analyze and interpret health and safety data effectively.Key Traits : Leadership, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills, with a strong commitment to fostering teamwork and upholding integrity.
