Applies adult learning methodologies to deliver instructor-led courses or programs.
Collaborates with subject matter experts (SMEs) to design and develop curricula.
Assesses the needs of the participants and modifies instructional strategies.
Uses rapid authoring tools to develop e-learning to support instructor-led courses or programs.
Develops standards and evaluates courses or programs, and implements revisions to improve quality.
Provides company-wide support and consultation services on all matters related to learning and development initiatives at PCL.
Completes the analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation, and maintenance of entry-level to intermediate behavioral and technical courses or programs.
Managers the preparation of course materials, including pre- and post-course work.
Researches and applies best practices and industry trends.
Monitors and assess learners’ development and assesses their learning.
Acts as project lead for assigned initiatives and programs and applies the principles of project and time management to track tasks / deadlines for self and a small team.
Develops and maintains strong, customer-focused relationships with all stakeholders.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline preferred.
5 years of progressive experience with training delivery and / or facilitation in a corporate environment preferred.
Understanding of adult learning theory and practices. Various instructional design approaches, instruction methodologies, and learner-centric design and learning solutions and new developments.
Ability to deliver an instructor-led course to a diverse group of participants with varying knowledge, experience, and backgrounds.
Ability to work independently or in a team environment in a highly matrixed organization.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Organizational skills, high level of detail orientation, and ability to multitask and prioritize conflicting deadlines. Has project management experience.
Knowledge of organizational change-management methodologies an asset. Intermediate-level business acumen and understanding of industry practices and new developments.
Ability to research and analyze information.
Ability to develop and form relationships and gain the confidence of learners to ensure effective facilitation.
Experience designing and implementing new courses and or programs.
