Job Description : Litigation Legal Administrative Assistant (LAA)

Our client is a is a boutique litigation firm located in Vancouver, known for its dedicated team of six skilled lawyers. The firm emphasizes a collaborative environment and is noted for its commitment to client service.

Job Responsibilities :

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to lawyers and legal staff within the firm.
  • Assist in the preparation of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and other litigation-related materials.
  • Manage and maintain filing systems, both physical and electronic, for easy retrieval of important documents.
  • Coordinate schedules, meetings, and travel arrangements for legal team members.
  • Compile and organize case files, ensuring all relevant documents are accurately prepared and filed.
  • Assist in client communication, maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
  • Perform research and gather information pertinent to ongoing litigation and case management.
  • Update and maintain various databases and tracking systems for case progress and deadlines.
  • Support the billing and invoicing process for services rendered by the firm.

Essential Qualifications :

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and legal software applications.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in document preparation and filing.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.

Desired Experience :

  • Previous experience in a legal administrative assistant role or similar position is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Familiarity with litigation processes and legal terminology is a plus.
  • Experience in a team-oriented environment and collaborating with attorneys or legal professionals.
