Job Summary :
They are seeking a dedicated and highly organized Litigation Law Clerk & Legal Assistant to join our client's team. This hybrid position offers the flexibility of both in-office and remote work and provides an excellent opportunity to work closely with a growing lawyer in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, detail-oriented individual with strong experience in litigation support.
Key Responsibilities :
- Assist with all stages of litigation, from case inception through to trial preparation and resolution.
- Draft and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, affidavits, and court forms.
- Conduct legal research and assist with drafting memorandums and legal summaries.
- Coordinate and manage discovery processes, including the preparation of document briefs, motions, and client communication.
- Maintain and organize client files, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Liaise with clients, opposing counsel, and court staff as required.
- Assist in preparing trial binders, evidence, and witness lists.
- Calendar and track key dates, deadlines, and court appearances to ensure compliance with legal timelines.
- Provide administrative support such as drafting correspondence, managing schedules, and organizing meetings.
- Assist with file management and general office organization.
Requirements
Qualifications :
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Litigation Law Clerk, Legal Assistant, or in a similar role.Strong knowledge of the Ontario Rules of Civil Procedure and experience with court filings.Proficiency in using legal management software (e.g., PC Law, Clio, or similar).Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities, with attention to detail.Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively with the legal team.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.A proactive and client-focused approach to work.Benefits
