Job description

Adecco is actively seeking an experienced and dynamic Purchasing Manager to join a reputable company in the millwork and construction industry. Based in GTA area , this is a full-time role where the ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic purchasing practices, building relationships with suppliers, and managing procurement activities. The role requires a strong background in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably within the millwork, woodworking, or construction sectors.

Responsibilities :

  • Develop and implement purchasing strategies to ensure a steady supply of quality materials at competitive costs.
  • Source, evaluate, and establish relationships with reliable suppliers, negotiating pricing, terms, and contracts to achieve favorable agreements.
  • Work closely with project managers, production teams, and estimators to ensure material requirements and timelines align with project needs.
  • Monitor inventory levels and place orders accordingly to prevent shortages or overstocking.
  • Ensure purchased materials comply with project specifications, company standards, and industry regulations.
  • Track deliveries and resolve supply chain issues to prevent delays in project timelines.
  • Collaborate with accounting to ensure accurate invoicing and payment processing.
  • Stay informed about market trends, new materials, and cost fluctuations in the millwork industry.
  • Maintain detailed records of purchasing activities, supplier performance, and cost analyses.
  • Develop and enforce purchasing policies and procedures to streamline procurement operations.
  • Requirements :

  • Legal eligibility to work and reside in Canada.
  • Minimum of 5 years of purchasing or procurement experience in the millwork, woodworking, or construction industries.
  • A post-secondary education in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field is highly beneficial.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Proficiency in purchasing software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively under tight deadlines.
  • Familiarity with materials like wood products, hardware, laminates, and other millwork supplies is a significant asset.
