Job description

The OpportunityWe are looking for an experienced Warehouse Manager to be part of a growing company that serves a vital role in the cold / frozen storage area of the food supply / distribution chain.Managing a warehouse team in daily workflow and logistics processes associated with a frozen / cold storage facility.Meets daily demands of warehouse operations from the receipt of products, storage, and distribution to customers.Trains new workers in job duties.Cross-trains workers to ensure operational flexibility.Trains all workers in safety policies.Attends company and departmental meetings as scheduled.Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety / OSHA regulations.Completes supervisory reports for work related accidents.Analyzes and resolves work / employee problems.Recommends and presents personnel actions such as promotions, transfers, discharges, and disciplinary measures.Has a focus on continuous improvement related to current standards.Prepares annual employee performance reviews.Maintains receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by following policies and procedures.Controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts; reconciling with data storage system.Maintains physical condition of warehouseOversee the daily inspections of the warehouse equipment reports.Follows and maintains transportation and distribution procedures to maximize delivery efficiency.Will play a role in the implementation of Microsoft Business Central BC by representing the need and business requirements of the warehouse function.What you bringA passion for being part of a growing enterprise and for going beyond a standard job description to enable a company to grow by focusing on mission, vision and values.Experience managing a team of warehouse workers with varying degrees of tenure.Keen eye for safety within the facility with an ability to identify, address, and escalate safety-related issues.An ability to identify areas where additional training is required and an ability to help shape and deliver this training to appropriate staff.Knowledge of and / or interest in diverse areas such as bakery products, supply chain, cold / frozen storage, and food distribution.Must have excellent organisational skills, a strong attention to detail, excellent written and oral communication skills in French and English, and be able to deal with people at various levels within and outside of the organization.Will consistently strive for excellence, take pride in executing responsibilities efficiently and accurately, and proactively look for opportunities to recommend improvements to systems and processes.Experience with forklift operation, safety and training.3-5 years of similar experience.Education : CEGEP and higher.Experience with Microsoft Office Suite of products.Although not required, some experience with Business Management / Enterprise Resource Management Programs / Systems that connect a business across departments (eg., Microsoft Business Central) is an asset.Positive attitude and an ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
