Telecon is looking for an energetic, career-oriented individual to join our team as a Project Manager.

This role will be responsible to cover the territory of Northern Alberta.

The Project Manager is responsible to lead and manage projects in alignment with the commitment made by Telecon through the expectations and contract with the Customer.

They are responsible for the timely delivery of the project and ensuring the project is on budget.

The Project Manager will be required to utilize their project management training, skills and business acumen to plan, track and effectively report on matters related to their overall portfolio of projects, and communicate opportunities for the development of new business.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Establish and maintain a constructive relationship with the client;
  • Define and manage client expectations in relation to projects and procedures internal and external;
  • Owning project progress and tracking from start to finish : Plan, organize, direct and control project activities and schedules;
  • Implement and ensure compliance with internal processes and procedures;
  • Communicate relevant and important information quickly and effectively to team members;
  • Produce and share project progress and results in the form of various reports (project progress report, permit follow-up, etc.);
  • Be responsive to the client's needs and concerns and respond in a timely and effective manner
  • Attend and possibly lead various meetings with the client as a representative of Telecon;
  • Estimate and track and adhere to project costs by monitoring hours spent and / or Build Partner activities on each function to control project profitability;
  • Coordinate and prioritize functions among the project team from intake to invoicing;
  • Ensure the respect of the target dates of each function;
  • Use management tools and keep documentation up to date;
  • Participate in business development an identify opportunities to increase the work volumes performed by Telecon;
  • Monitor any changes or unforeseen events to the original mandate and ensure necessary Scope Changes and Change Orders are processed quickly and accurately
  • Identify opportunities to improve the quality and standardization of projects delivered to clients;
  • Complete project closure activities according to client standards;

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline and / or 3-5 years’ experience in project management;
  • Familiarity with standard Project Management Tools (Gantt chars, Process Mapping, Pivot Tables, etc,)
  • Project management certificate (PMP) an asset;
  • Knowledge of the various engineering and construction functions necessary for completion of a typical telecommunications construction project;
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to deal with customers in stressful situations;
  • Ability to manage team members’ activities and direct necessary actions to be completed;
  • Ability to handle multiple projects concurrently without sacrificing quality or detail;
  • Excellent leadership and entrepreneurial skills;
  • Effective oral and written communication skills;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft software and an array of online software tools and solutions including the flexibility to learn Telecon’s and our Customers’ regularly evolving solutions.
