What is the Opportunity? This role is part of Group Risk Management U.S. Governance & Risk Reporting team and is responsible for supporting RBC’s Combined US Operations (CUSO) Risk Management Committee, chaired by the U.
S. Chief Risk Officer. The Associate will play a key role in ensuring the operational effectiveness of CUSO RMC in accordance with regulatory expectations and industry best practices. What will you do?
- Provides key support for the CUSO RMC, including the following responsibilities :
- Coordinates with other CUSO committee secretaries to ensure escalation procedures and corporate governance practices are consistent and in line with regulatory expectations and best practices
- Works closely with the Risk Committee Reporting Lead to ensure risk issues identified at CUSO RMC are reported in the US CRO Report, and that risk materials to be presented to the Risk Committee follow the appropriate governance path.
- Builds strong relationships with risk counterparts including RBC Enterprise, CUSO and RIHC legal entities, promoting alignment and consistency.
- Interacts and communicates with senior management to identify key topics of interest to CUSO RMC
- Keeps abreast of regulatory developments, industry best practices and leading trends in governance practices.
- Responds to regulatory, Internal Audit and external survey requests as required (e.g. Federal Reserve, OCC, DTCC etc.)
What do you need to succeed?
- Required : Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Law or other related fields
- 5+ years previous experience work in a Risk Management role in a Financial Services organization.
- Strong organizational awareness, preferably with solid knowledge of risk management and / or governance standards & processes (management and / or board level)
- General knowledge of key risk disciplines e.g., enterprise, market, counterparty credit, liquidity risk
- Solid communication skills (both written and oral) and strong diplomatic and interpersonal skills to communicate with multiple stakeholders including senior management
- Ability to manage well under pressure and tight deadlines; works well with changing priorities in a dynamic small team environment
- Prior work developing processes and controls related to Heightened Standards or Reg YY will be prioritized
- In-depth knowledge of MS Office
- Preferred : Master’s Degree in Business, Finance, Law or other related fields or Risk Management certification (e.g. FRM)

- The good-faith expected salary range for the above position is $80,000 - $135,000 (NJ) depending on factors including but not limited to the candidate’s experience, skills, registration status;
- market conditions; and business needs. This salary range does not include other elements of total compensation, including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions;
