Due to the ongoing growth of our business, we have an opening for an HR Director / HR Manager (depending on level of experience), reporting to the CEO, to join our team.

Major Areas of Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility for human resources strategy aligned with the company’s mission
  • Focus on strengthening the culture, morale, learning, and skills development of the organization
  • Managing HR Specialist, HR processes and policies including compliance with laws and union contracts, informing payroll of HR changes.
  • Supporting managers and supervisors
  • Managing compensation, benefits, and recruiting strategy to support company growth
  • Streamlining the hiring, onboarding, and training processes
  • Represent the company to external stakeholders with respect to HR subject matter

Requirements

  • At least 15 years of human resources experience and at least 10 years at a management level
  • Experience with Canadian and Ontario HR laws and regulations
  • CHRL or CHRP preferred
  • Demonstrated abilities with respect to :
  • Emotional intelligence, empathy, and compassion
  • Leadership and influence
  • Negotiation and conflict resolution
  • Resilience and stress management
  • Preferred experience with :

  • An engineering and manufacturing setting and a unionized production workforce
  • Administrator level experience with Dayforce HR system including queries, data analysis, and metrics
  • Diversity and inclusion initiatives
  • Immigration pathways
  • Performance management
  • Learning management and e-learning systems
  • Change management and organizational development
  • Working with colleges and universities to support recruitment and skills training
  • ISO45001 / COR2020 certification in a manufacturing and field setting
  • Strong ability to communicate in English (spoken, written)
  • This is an on-site position (Maple Ontario)
  • This position requires the ability to independently travel between locations in the Greater Toronto Area
