We are looking to bring a Buyer / Scheduler on board in our clients Brampton, Ontario office. The key function of this role is to manage purchasing and scheduling processes, making use of various software systems and tools, while ensuring smooth communication within the team.
Responsibilities
Responsible for entering formulations into the ERP system, working with the Plant Manager (PM) to ensure instructions and materials are accurate
Prepare daily production schedules, working with the Production leads to ensure the schedule is followed and work orders are being completed in a timely fashion
Monitor production progress and communicate to customer service and Director of Supply Chain (DSC) of any issues.
Determines with the input from the DSC and PM when extended hours or a second shift is required.
Issue work orders per material planning report and customer orders
Review WOs and change appropriately due to substitutions
Review long-term forecasts to identify and mitigate possible capacity / material issues and recommend appropriate action.
Review long-term forecast to build stock and prepare for busy season
Co-Ordinates Outsourced production :
Determines requirements
Communicates with vendor to determine pricing and completion dates
Co-ordinated purchasing of packaging and raw material and ensure deliver to third party production location
Reconciles inventory when production is completed.
Purchasing :
Negotiate with vendors on pricing and terms where needed or asked.
Entering and reviewing price lists and challenging increases deemed unfit
Prepare and reviewing daily purchasing scan
Ensure all certificate of analysis, SDS and Specifications are received from vendors
Issue purchase order, confirming and expediting to ensure timely delivery of goods
Identify any potential shortage and work to fill any gaps to ensure continuance of production
Reacting to change in demand and coming up with alternative supply scenarios to ensure production does not stop
Prepare quarterly raw material schedules and issue purchase orders accordingly
Review weekly raw material schedule
Review any invoice discrepancies from vendors and resolve the issues.
Receipt Purchase orders into inventory
Rectifying Inventory / Shipping / Receiving discrepancies
Other :
Back up For Traffic Specialist when vacation time occurs.
Occasionally assist Technical with Label and SDS creation when needed
Technical Skills and Prior Experience :
3-4 years’ experience in Purchasing and Scheduling
Excellent Problem solver
Excelling communication both verbal and written
Excellent Organization skills
Self-motivated
Education : Bachelor of Business
Supply Chain Management Certificate / Designation an asset
