Position
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Litigation Associate to join our team.
The successful candidate will work closely with senior lawyers and clients on a variety of litigation matters, including :
- Business and Commercial Litigation
- Construction Lien Matters
- Employment-Related Disputes (e.g., wrongful dismissal, human rights issues)
- Estate Litigation
- Contract Enforcement and Debt Collection
Key Responsibilities
Manage a diverse caseload, including civil, commercial, and administrative litigation matters.Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, affidavits, and other legal documents.Prepare for and represent clients in court hearings, trials, arbitrations, and mediations.Advise clients on legal rights, obligations, and risks.Collaborate with clients, opposing counsel, and other stakeholders to negotiate and resolve disputes.Stay current on legislative changes, case law, and legal precedents relevant to practice areas.Qualifications
Juris Doctor (JD) or Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from a recognized law school.Membership in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario .Strong knowledge and familiarity with the Rules of Civil Procedure .2-5 years of experience in litigation, preferably in a law firm setting.Excellent analytical, legal research, and writing skills.Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Proficiency with legal research tools such as Westlaw or CanLII .Commitment to delivering high-quality legal services and upholding professional integrity.Why Join Us?
