Position

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Litigation Associate to join our team.

The successful candidate will work closely with senior lawyers and clients on a variety of litigation matters, including :

  • Business and Commercial Litigation
  • Construction Lien Matters
  • Employment-Related Disputes (e.g., wrongful dismissal, human rights issues)
  • Estate Litigation
  • Contract Enforcement and Debt Collection

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a diverse caseload, including civil, commercial, and administrative litigation matters.
  • Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, affidavits, and other legal documents.
  • Prepare for and represent clients in court hearings, trials, arbitrations, and mediations.
  • Advise clients on legal rights, obligations, and risks.
  • Collaborate with clients, opposing counsel, and other stakeholders to negotiate and resolve disputes.
  • Stay current on legislative changes, case law, and legal precedents relevant to practice areas.
  • Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) or Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from a recognized law school.
  • Membership in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario .
  • Strong knowledge and familiarity with the Rules of Civil Procedure .
  • 2-5 years of experience in litigation, preferably in a law firm setting.
  • Excellent analytical, legal research, and writing skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with legal research tools such as Westlaw or CanLII .
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality legal services and upholding professional integrity.
