Why does the opportunity exist?

The company is seeking a Director of Supply Chain at their Head Office (the person could be based out of either Windsor or Brampton Office) This critical role is essential to managing the strategic sourcing of aluminum, which is a cornerstone of their operations, and ensuring smooth cross-border logistics, vendor relationships, and cost optimization.

The organization seeks an on-site leader who can collaborate effectively with divisions, oversee ESG-related supply chain initiatives, and maintain alignment with the executive team’s strategic goals. This transition presents an opportunity to bring a fresh perspective to enhance supply chain efficiencies

Mandate

The director of supply chain will be responsible for strategic aluminum sourcing, third-party spend management, vendor optimization, and cross-border logistics. Additionally, they will ensure ISO compliance and drive best-in-class supply chain practices.

Reporting to the CFO, this leader will oversee a team of two, including one manager and one product specialist. This role requires a strategic thinker and adept leader who can streamline operations, strengthen vendor relationships, and optimize overall supply chain efficiency.

What we are looking for :

To be considered for this impactful role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and experiences :

  • Overall : 10+ years in supply chain management, procurement, and purchasing within manufacturing, metals, or related industries, with a strong focus on strategic sourcing, vendor management, and cross-border operations.
  • Leadership : Proven ability to lead and motivate teams, fostering a culture of accountability & continuous improvement.
  • Technical Expertise : Proficiency with ERP systems with expertise in forecasting and demand planning tools is also essential.
  • Analytical & Negotiation Skills : Coupled with analytical proficiency to evaluate supplier performance, identify cost-saving opportunities, and mitigate risks. Experience with developing and implementing performance improvement tools is critical.
  • Education : A bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, Economics, or a related field
