Security & Healthcare Systems Designer :   Harvey 2611

Currently, we are looking for a dedicated  Systems Designer  for our Security & Healthcare Technology team, based in  Burnaby .

The Systems Designer is responsible for designing, researching, solution architecting, and testing technologies related to company security projects and service work. Technologies may include access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, nurse call, RTLS, and systems integrations.

Your responsibilities :

  • Read and understand specifications and conduct system design for commercial and institutional projects
  • Collaborate with team in the estimate, RFI process and design phase of projects
  • Create and update drawing packages, configuration and tracking spreadsheets and other design documents
  • Liaise with manufacturer reps and suppliers, source and assemble manufacturer's manuals, instructions data sheets and reference for design
  • Model and simulate various solutions in test environments
  • Identify technology solutions for assigned projects
  • Learn design tools quickly and work within a complex, fast paced design development environment
  • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders (internal & external) to help meet the needs of the projects

Your experience and skills :

  • Minimum 5 years related experience required (knowledge of technical drawings, system design, estimating, configuration, commissioning, and projects design documentation).
  • Formal training and experience designing enterprise level security systems (access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, nurse call, RTLS technologies is required
  • Experience with computer software’s - Microsoft, AutoCAD, Visio or equivalent
  • In-depth understanding of security system protocols, networking, and databases
  • Computer networking knowledge (Cisco certification an asset)
  • Technical troubleshooting capability
  • Very strong interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to converse technically and professionally to technical and non-technical project stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail and focus on quality and accuracy
  • Able to work under pressure and ever-changing work environment

    This is a full-time position

    Salary Range :  $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience

    Competitive total compensation package .
