Job Responsibilities
Your specific duties as Sub System Launch Lead, Windsor, Ontario (Hybrid) will include :
- Technical program management for one vehicle lines by being the key point of contact between the design team and all other functional areas such as vehicle program management, engineering departments and manufacturing.
- Responsible for ensuring that the systems meet all functional and performance requirements while meeting cost, weight, investment, timing, and quality objectives.
- Lead system responsibilities at any point from launch phase through end of life.
- Provide dedicated support of bulletin response which may include concept studies, initial packaging, cost and weight analysis, prototype procurement, supplier management, sourcing, tooling kickoff, validation, launch, program maintenance, change management, value optimization, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate technical issue resolution pertaining to engineering and quality at all stages of the program and across all functional areas.
- Must support plant development and launch activities onsite as a visible member of the launch team representing respective function.
- Define, share, and update the vehicle development plan to guarantee the coherency of the vehicle behavior and the availability of the planned features at all stages.
- Release the Specification to all Suppliers and manage the Requirements Change Management process through Design Change Requests (DCR) to ensure the alignment of Requirements with Product Planning requests, bug fixes and feedback from Suppliers.
- Responsible for warranty performance post launch and lead activities at plant such as warranty table for all commodities under your umbrella to meet target.
- Responsible for leading activities for Value Optimization to meet established targets for each program by supporting teardown events, supplier VO meetings, processing ideas thru ILO process (0-4).
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace Engineering from an ABET accredited program8 years of engineering experience with an emphasis on Interior components at either an OEM or supplierGeneral knowledge of tooling and manufacturing processes including molding, stamping, welding, brazing, machining, casting, and coatings.Strong leader with entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to sell ideas to all stakeholdersProven capability in problem solving and root-causingMust be self-sufficient with ability to influence and lead others without formal authority.Must have excellent written and verbal communication skillsBasic financial understanding with ability to maintain program budgetProven experience in program management with the ability to set a timeline and execute at the required milestones.Requirements Management / Change Management basicsMust be able to lead and manage suppliers.Proven capability to develop parts / systems in co-design with third parties (Tier1s)Ability to review and apply component and system Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA)s and DVP&RsMust be able to manage multiple concurrent activities.Experience in DFSS (Design for Six Sigma) proactive and / or reactive quality tools a plusAbility and knowledge to create effective presentationsHigh level of experience with MS Office toolsAbility to effectively operate both independently and as part of a teamHigh level of proficiency in English (speaking, reading, writing)As a Sub System Launch Lead with Bartech Staffing, you will be working through an established and respected staffing organization with over 40 years of serving as a trusted partner to our client companies.
