The Electrical Manager will be responsible for the management of all electrical projects in the Thunder Bay and district area. This position is primarily a project management role involving manpower coordination, coordination of trades, scheduling, budgeting, estimating of new projects and extras, billings, and other project related activities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Work with other division managers, suppliers and sub-contractors to complete projects on time, in budget and ensure all work is done safely with quality standards as a priority.
- Must have the ability to provide clear, unwavering direction to site foremen and workers
- Ensure that engineering deliverables (e.g., shop drawings, specifications, budget estimates) comply with applicable regulations, standards, corporate procedures and sound engineering practices.
- Be responsible for managing multiple jobs through coordinating the effective use of technical staff, equipment and other resources, ensuring jobs are completed to client standards, while enforcing company policies and procedures
KNOWLEDGE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS :
Electrical backgroundEither recognized accreditation as a journeyman electrician, Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.), Electrical Engineer or Professional Engineering designation (P.Eng) in the province of OntarioMember of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 402 is an assetWorking knowledge of the Ontario Electrical CodeAbility to price and initiate through Purchasing the sourcing of electrical materials for multiple jobsSPECIFIC EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS :
5-10 years of progressive electrical supervisory experienceExperience with electrical take-offs / estimationExcellent computer skills and working knowledge with Outlook, Word, Excel, MS Project.Excellent troubleshooting skillsExperience in leading a team and making decisions, related to hiring, scheduling and behavior managementShow a high level of technical understandingBudget development experience, including forecastingSafety program management and implementationStrong conceptual skillsStrong verbal and written communication skills, planning and organizational abilities with excellent interpersonal skills.PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES :
