Structural Engineer (Northern Ontario)
As the Structural Engineer you will work under the direction of the Engineering Manager. Primarily responsible for planning and executing structural & civil design projects from beginning to total completion, providing leadership and guidance.

The typical structural & civil projects are smaller scale systems which support the activities of manufacturing facilities. Examples may include :
Existing building modification (column relocation, wind bracing…)Addition of Custom MezzaninesJoist Reinforcements,Pipe & Equipment HangersRoof or Wall penetrationsConcrete Equipment PadsWhat You’ll Do :
Complete and maintain structural designs and detailing for a variety of projects.Perform manual calculations & simulations to validate the designs conform to the codes and customer requirements.Delegate duties and coordinate the design process with other designers in the departmentProvide support to other Structural designers as well as the wider project team during all phases of the design / build.Inspecting completed projects to ensure they are compliant with safety standards and codes.Communicate project status, concerns, and design solutions with management, fellow staff including the presentation of design to internal and external stakeholders and acquiring approval to proceed prior to manufacturingParticipate in professional development to stay up to date with current codes.Participate in the development of systems related to documentation, controls, andSupport the use of the company’s quality system and ensure appropriate documentation of projects.Oversee all assigned tasks in a neat, detailed, and timely fashion while striving to maintain budgeted hoursWhat We’re Looking For :
Civil Engineering degree with a minimum of 5-10 years of progressive experience with industrial design, regulations, guidelines, and associated standardsP. Eng Ontario designation required; eligibility is also acceptable.Proficient in AutoCAD, SolidworksProficiency with Tekla, and 3D Scanning software is an assetIn-depth knowledge of civil engineering and structural specifications, standards, and codesAbility to estimate and quote engineering and design requirements for projects.Critical thinking with exceptional problem-solving skills, able to work independently and in a team environmentProactive, resourceful and highly motivated with good communication skills and ability to work in high output environmentOur team is eager to connect with candidates who meet the job requirements.
