Project (Package) Manager – Capital Projects
Job Summary :
The Project (Package) Manager – Capital Projects will oversee the planning, execution, and completion of capital projects. This role involves coordinating with various stakeholders, managing project timelines and budgets, and ensuring that all project deliverables meet the required standards and specifications.
Key Responsibilities :
Project Planning and Coordination :
- Develop detailed project plans, including scope, objectives, timelines, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external contractors to ensure project milestones are met.
- Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
- Identify and mitigate project risks and issues.
Technical Oversight :
Review and approve technical documentation, specifications, and drawings.Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices.Oversee the installation, commissioning, and testing of equipment and systems.Provide technical guidance and support to project teams.Quality Assurance :
Implement and maintain quality control processes to ensure high standards of project deliverables.Conduct regular inspections and audits of project activities and outputs.Address any quality issues promptly and implement corrective actions.Stakeholder Management :
Act as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies.Communicate project progress, issues, and solutions to stakeholders in a timely and effective manner.Foster strong relationships with all project stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.Continuous Improvement :
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement innovative solutions.Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.Conduct post-project evaluations to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement.Required Qualifications :
Education :
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.A master’s degree or higher is an asset.Experience :
Minimum of 7+ years of experience in project management within the manufacturing or industrial sector.Extensive experience in managing large-scale capital projects.Skills :
Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Excellent technical knowledge of capital project operations and equipment.Strong leadership and team management skills.Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.Proficiency in using project management software and tools.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Certifications :
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent is preferred.Relevant certifications in quality assurance or technical management are an asset.Work Environment :
Primarily office-based with regular visits to project sites.Standard safety equipment and protocols must be followed during site visits.Salary :
