Job description

Job Description and Responsibilities

At EVRAZ quality is second only to safety. We currently have an opening at our Edmonton facility for a dynamic leader with a proven track record as a Shift Supervisor. In this challenging role , you will be responsible for scheduling, providing direction, coordinating, training, and leading your crew to achieve or exceed planned safety, production, quality, and recovery targets while minimizing costs.

  • Drive results by optimizing operations to increase productivity and improve Yield and First Pass Yield
  • Ensure compliance with all aspects of the safety, health, environmental, and quality programs
  • Plan, align, and direct daily production activities to ensure daily production requirements are met and / or exceeded and conformance with the monthly shipping plan is assured
  • Due diligence, make every reasonable effort to ensure the safety of the employees
  • Conduct monthly safety meetings
  • Work with operators and stakeholders to effectively solve problems
  • Provide or arrange training for employees to meet the standards of the job they are performing
  • Support all company and regulatory requirements
  • Effectively report mechanical / electrical concerns immediately and contribute to failure analysis
  • Engage employees in continuous improvement to identify and eliminate waste

Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or a combination of education and equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of CNC machining experience
  • In-depth knowledge of CNC programming, machine operation, and maintenance.
  • Previous experience leading a team and overseeing work preferred
  • Demonstrated business operations and process improvement experience
  • Understanding and knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
  • Familiarity with occupational health and safety (OH&S) regulations and safety standards
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, proven ability to motivate team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
