Environmental Specialist
Our Calgary client is seeking an Environmental Specialist to support environmental compliance, assessment, and sustainability initiatives. The ideal candidate will have experience in environmental regulations, site assessments, and environmental management systems. This role requires technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively. The successful candidate will be provided the opportunity to work on challenging and diverse projects across western Canada with a wide range of complexity.
Your success will be defined by your ability to :
- Conduct environmental site assessments and audits to identify potential environmental risks.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
- Monitor and analyze environmental data.
- Support environmental permitting processes for new and ongoing projects.
- Conduct environmental impact assessments and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Prepare technical reports, compliance documentation, and environmental policies.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on environmental best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with regulatory agencies, consultants, and internal teams to address environmental concerns.
- Stay current with emerging environmental regulations, technologies, and industry best practices.
Your strengths include :
3+ years of relevant contaminated sites and environmental consulting experienceB.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in Environmental engineering, Chemistry, Geology, and environmental sciencesProfessional designation (i.e., PGeo, APEGA, AIA, PChem, or PAg) or eligible to applyExperienced with working knowledge of Alberta Environment and BC contaminated soil Criteria and GuidelinesExperienced in conducting Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) Phases 1,2 & 3 and reportingExperience in Upstream Oil and Gas remediation and reclamationExperience conducting Contaminated soil sampling.Proficiency in imagery interpretation to delineate contaminated sites in Alberta and BC.Legally entitled to work in Canada.Strong, demonstrated technical written and oral communication skills are a requirement.Basic GIS skills and understanding;A valid driver's license (minimum Class 5)Develop and contribute to project proposals and budgets.Interact with clients, staff, and regulatory agencies.Implement corporate and client safety programs.If you are interested in this role and meet the above criteria, please click the “Apply” button to send your resume directly to Stephanie Wiebe.
