We are seeking a Senior DevOps Software Engineer (reporting to the Manager of Engineering Operations) with a strong interest in infrastructure automation and a solid understanding of software development and deployment.

The ideal candidate will take ownership of deployment, scaling, automation, and configuration management, while bridging development, operations, and Linux systems programming to lead initiatives.

We are open to candidates across Canada / North America. We are a remote-first company with a head-office in Toronto. We don't mandate team members to come in on a particular schedule, however we encourage team members to come into the office to foster connection with their colleagues on a schedule that works for them personally.

What you'll do

  • Collaborate with and learn from an experienced team in the Engineering Operations department
  • Your role will be critical to integrating, deploying, and supporting our flagship product SD Elements on Kubernetes for our enterprise customers
  • Design, implement, and maintain cloud solutions for provisioning all deployments in labs, production, and on-premise environments.
  • Continuously improve cloud-related tooling, monitoring, and diagnostic capabilities
  • Support and advise software engineering teams in the design of scalable architecture
  • Creating, maintaining and presenting technical documentation (E.g. design, architecture, configuration, troubleshooting, etc.

for audiences ranging from team members to executives.

What you'll need to succeed

  • 5+ years of experience in a DevOps role or a software development role with a DevOps flavor
  • 3+ years of experience working with Kubernetes and creating & maintaining Helm charts
  • 2+ years of experience working with AWS
  • 2+ years of experience administering Linux based systems.
  • Intermediate coding experience with Python, Go, and Bash
  • Experience maintaining a consistent configuration across multiple environments using GitOps tools such as Argo CD, and IaC tools such as Terraform
  • Proficiency at containerizing services and deploying them to a Kubernetes cluster.
  • A good understanding of how to apply CI / CD best practices to the software development lifecycle.
  • Experience with technical troubleshooting using tools such as Grafana and Kibana.

What does the interview process look like?

  • Phone Interview You'll start with a 15 20-minute phone screen with someone from our Recruitment team to learn more about your background and goals for your next role.
  • Technical Interview - You'll have the chance to meet with the team for a collaborative technical interview, where we'll go over a practical assessment that you'll receive ahead of time.
  • Hiring Manager Interview - In this interview, you'll meet with the hiring manager to discuss your experience, goals, and how you could make an impact in this role while learning more about the team.
  • Culture-Add Interview This is a 30-minute virtual meeting with either our Chief People & Culture Officer or CEO to learn how your values align with our CCOAR values of Customer Focus, Collaboration, Ownership, Authenticity and Respect.
