Job Description and Required Skills
- The Project Manager Service Area encompasses the initiation, planning, executing, controlling, and closing of projects.
- This Service Area includes, but is not limited to :
- Leads and manages information technology projects or other non-technical projects, and is accountable for delivering assigned projects on time, with the desired quality and scope, within budget, and meeting the strategic and business requirements.
- Work with the Project stakeholders to develop, implement and maintain structures for project governance and decision-making.
- Provides leadership and manages the assigned project team members by providing guidance, coaching, and assignment of work, and is accountable for ensuring project team members complete tasks and deliverables in a timely manner.
- Develop project requirements, scope, and deliverables and ensure the appropriate approvals are in place before proceeding with the project.
- Define, estimate, and plan project tasks, resources, timelines, and milestones.
- Develop, maintain, execute, and monitor project plans.
- Develop and monitor budgets, allocations, and / or expenditures.
- Identify, document, report, and mitigate project risks and issues.
- Manage the project communication and reporting process via status reports, meetings, and other methods as required for monitoring and accountability purposes.
- Ensure the completion and quality of project documentation, and deliverables, obtaining the necessary signoffs.
- Accountable for the management of external vendors in their delivery of solutions and services. Works with external organizations and agencies to define and manage the exchange of information as necessary for a project.
- Responsible to work with business to articulate the project benefits and manage the project to ensure the benefits will be realized. Provides support for the post- project benefits tracking and reporting processes.
- Ensure an operational plan is established and approved.
- Transition of the project to the appropriate Operational team.
- Other work relevant to the service category as required.
