Responsibilities :
Act as the technical expert for capital investment projects, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency during the concept, design, and execution phases.Manage and oversee external contractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure effective program delivery, covering areas such as machine guarding, lockout / tagout (LOTO), dust control, ovens, and more.Review and approve electrical and controls system solutions, ensuring compliance with industry regulations.Lead change management activities and ensure smooth transitions from project implementation to operational use.Liaise with internal stakeholders, providing transparency and alignment throughout the project lifecycle.Monitor and manage budgets, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with financial targets.Develop processes, procedures, and systems to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards within the Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) program.Support the Health & Safety Manager by creating reports, dashboards, and presentations for project updates and outcomes.Requirements :
Legal eligibility to work and reside in Canada.A degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or a related discipline).Minimum of 5 years of project management experience in manufacturing or supply chain sectors.At least 3 years of hands-on experience with PLC / HMI, control systems, automation, and instrumentation.In-depth knowledge of the CSA Electrical Code and Ontario Electrical Safety Code.Experience with food processing, packaging systems, and bakery manufacturing techniques.Expertise in Lockout / Tagout (LOTO), machine guarding, identifying pinch points, entanglement hazards, and performing safe distance calculations.Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical diagrams and P&IDs.Strong financial management skills, including the ability to perform cost calculations and oversee project budgets.Well-versed in government regulations, such as OHSA, and industry standards like NFPA, CSA, ISO, ANSI, and ESA.Proficient in MS Office, MS Projects, and AutoCAD.Ability to effectively prioritize tasks in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.Don't miss out on this Safety Engineer position in Toronto, ON.
