Shifts are remunerated on a fee for service basis through MSP, and there are additional funds through the Medical On call Availability Program (MOCAP) and Rural Emergency Enhancement Fee (REEF). These positions may be eligible for Rural Program funding, which is adjudicated on a case-by-case basis by the Ministry of Health.

Squamish General Hospital ED services a population of 24,000 with a 13 bed emergency department.
