We’re currently hiring for a Long Haul Driver for our Edmonton Shipping department. In this role, you’ll be challenged to think on your feet, learn on the job and get a little bit better each and every day, with the support of a team that always has your back.

There’s more to any job than words on a page, but the focus of this role is to deliver our product withing the Edmonton area and will also be required to go on long haul 2-3 day trips within Alberta, British Columbia and Saskatchewan.

On any given day, the Long Haul Driver is responsible for :

  • Ensure product is safely delivered to the customer while ensuring safety of other drivers while in operation
  • Maneuver vehicle safely on the roads and on-site so as not to cause damage
  • Determine the most efficient roads to take, scheduling site visits, and taking weather conditions into consideration
  • Comply with all Federal traffic laws, road etiquette, and All Weather policies and procedures at all times while operating vehicle and while on customer delivery site
  • Ensure vehicle maintenance and repairs are current, including inspecting the vehicle before and after use, logging the inspection results, and reporting any maintenance or damage to the Fleet Manager immediately
  • Completing the field level hazard assessment forms for each site
  • Ensure that the product is safely delivered to the customer
  • Unload products safely on-site for delivery to the customer in accordance with All Weather policies and procedures and customer satisfaction expectations
  • Track products that have been delivered and ensure paperwork is complete and accurate
  • Communicate with the customers and maintain positive relationships
  • Listen to customers’ inquiries, feedback, and concerns
  • Delegate concerns to Supervisor as required to solve customer problems as efficiently as possible

  • Valid Class 1 license
  • 2-3 years’ related driving experience, including driving and maneuvering vehicles, backing up to load and unload product and defensive driving techniques
  • Must be able to perform heavy lifting of 100 lbs
  • Experience with loading / unloading product.
  • Experience operating similar heavy equipment and an understanding of hydraulics is an asset
  • Must have solid customer service skills
  • Must pass pre-employment Drug & Alcohol Testing
  • Must pass pre-employment Physical Testing
  • Must be willing to provide a satisfactory Drivers Abstract
