The Senior Director Finance will report to the Chief Financial Officer. This role will be pivotal in ensuring financial strategies align with the company's goals and operations. The Senior Finance Director will be responsible for leading a team of financial professionals, including the Controller, Project Financial Accounting (PFA) Director, and Project Accounting Director. This leadership role will also involve collaborating with senior management to provide financial insights and contribute to key business decisions.
More specifically, the role of Senior Director Finance includes :
- Financial Strategy & Leadership : Lead and oversee the financial operations of the group, ensuring alignment with corporate goals, and maintaining a robust financial reporting structure. Guide and mentor the finance team to deliver accurate and timely financial data.
- Local and Foreign Entity Accounting : Support the accounting operations of local home office and all foreign entities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with local regulations, and alignment with corporate policies, while continuously improving these processes.
- Audited Financial Statements : Oversee the preparation and coordination of audited financial statements, ensuring accuracy, compliance with accounting standards, and timely completion of audits.
- Financial Reporting & Analysis : Oversee the budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis processes to support strategic decision-making, continuously improving these processes.
- Project Accounting Oversight : Ensure effective management of project-specific accounting, including cost tracking, revenue recognition, and margin analysis. Work with the Project Accounting team to ensure proper financial oversight of all ongoing projects.
- Tax Management : Manage and optimize direct and indirect tax compliance and planning, ensuring adherence to local and international tax regulations.
- Canadian & European GST-VAT Compliance : Ensure compliance with GST-VAT regulations, including registration, reporting, and payment processes, and continuously improve these processes.
- R&D Credits : Oversee the identification, documentation, and application of R&D tax credits, continuously improving the process to maximize benefits.
- Treasury Management : Manage and enhance treasury functions, including cash flow management, banking relationships, and investment strategies.
- Foreign Exchange (FX) Management : Manage and enhance FX risk management strategies to mitigate currency exposure, continuously improving processes to reduce risk.
- Intercompany Pricing : Manage and enhance intercompany transfer pricing policies, ensuring compliance with international guidelines and optimizing tax efficiency, while continuously improving processes.
- Consolidation : Oversee the consolidation of financial statements across multiple entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards, and continuously improving the consolidation process.
- Compliance & Internal Controls : Ensure compliance with industry regulations, internal financial policies, and statutory requirements. Establish and maintain financial controls to prevent errors or fraud.
- Team Management & Development : Supervise, mentor, and develop an international financial team, including the Controller, PFA Director, and Project Accounting Director. Foster a collaborative environment that promotes accountability and professional growth.
- Collaboration with Stakeholders : Serve as a key finance partner to senior leadership, providing financial insights to inform strategic decisions. Collaborate with operational teams to ensure financial considerations are incorporated into project execution.
IDEAL PROFILE
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (CPA preferred).Experience
Minimum of 15 years of experience in financial management, preferably within the healthcare, pharmaceutical, or CRO industries.Including 10 years of experience in managing a team and working in a financial leadership role.Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, budgeting, and project accounting.Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with cross-functional collaboration.Skills and knowledge
Extensive experience in international finance and accounting, including project accounting, tax management, treasury, and FX.Strong knowledge of local and international financial regulations and compliance requirements.Proven ability to manage and develop a diverse team working remotely across multiple locations.Strong proficiency in ERP software, Microsoft Excel, Power Bi and SQL database.Strategic thinker with the ability to influence and guide business decisions.OUR COMPANY
