The Director of Operations and Engineering (Director-OE) is a key executive leader responsible for overseeing and optimizing the company’s operational and engineering functions at our IBC Technologies facility in Burnaby, BC. This role ensures the alignment of operations and engineering strategies with organizational goals, promotes innovation and drives operational excellence for our wall-hung boiler product line. The Director-OE will collaborate with senior leadership to support growth, efficiency, and long-term success.
The chosen candidate will lead the local site in Burnaby, with direct reports in Manufacturing, Mechanical Product Development, Purchasing, and Product Support and indirect reports in HR, Finance, and Controls Engineering. This role will report directly to the VP / GM, Commercial Water and Pool, for Rheem Manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership :
- Develop and implement strategic plans for operations and engineering to support IBC and Rheem sales objectives.
- Align operational and engineering priorities with organizational sales goals, ensuring scalability and sustainability.
- Serve as a member of the executive team, providing strategic input on organizational direction and performance.
- Provide overall leadership to the entire IBC Technologies business
Operations Management :
Oversee day-to-day operations to ensure safety, efficiency, cost-effectiveness, on-time delivery, inventory management, and adherence to quality standards.Implement robust processes, tools, and systems to improve operational performance.Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement.Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, safety standards, and industry best practices.Engineering Leadership :
Direct engineering teams in the development, design, and maintenance of products, services, or infrastructure.Foster innovation by promoting research and development initiatives.Ensure timely delivery of engineering projects within budget and quality standards.Manage the lifecycle of engineering initiatives, from ideation to implementation.Team Development :
Build, mentor, and lead high-performing teams in operations and engineering.Establish a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.Provide coaching and professional development opportunities to support team growth.Budget and Resource Management :
Oversee budgets for operations and engineering, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.Drive cost optimization initiatives without compromising quality or performance.Evaluate and implement new technologies and tools to enhance productivity.Stakeholder Collaboration :
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, product management, marketing, and product development, to ensure seamless operations.Collaborate with enterprise Operations and Quality teams to deploy best practices.Maintain relationships with key Rheem personnel, external partners, vendors, and clients.Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, engineering, business administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferred (e.g., MBA or M.S. in Engineering).10+ years of progressive leadership experience in operations and engineering, with a track record of driving results.Experience leading a manufacturing facility preferred.Strong expertise in operational efficiency, project management, and engineering processes.Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.Compensation Package :
